A Moment Of Prayer

I've Seen The Angels Cry

I have always thought that angels, wore halos and wings of white. But now I find they wear hard hats and black coats with yellow stripes. And angels, in my mind, wore long flowing gowns of white but now I see dark pants and shirts and badges shining bright. And angels always floated, with bare feet above the ground not true! For they wear steel toed boots and go where death is found not all angels have smooth hands that look like porcelain some angels have torn gloves and cuts and burns upon their skin. And while I thought all angels glowed from heavens light I see an angel cutting steel, his torch is shining bright And while these earthly angels passed buckets of debris the angels up in heaven looked down on bended knee so while the smoke continued to rise into the sky, I watched the rescue workers weep, I've seen the angels cry.

A Fire Fighter's Prayer

When I'm called to duty, God
wherever flames may rage.
Grant me the strength to save a life
whatever be its age.

Help me to embrace a little child
before it is too late.
Or save an older person
from the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert
to hear the weakest shout.
And quickly and efficiently
put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling, Lord
and give the best in me.
To guard my every neighbor and
protect his property.

And if according to your will
I am to lose my life.
God bless with your protecting hand
my children and my wife.

We never thought when we awoke this morning (9/11/01)
The sorrow the day would bring.
The blow was sudden, the shock severe,
To part with one's we loved so dear,
We cannot keep from wondering,
Why our loved one's had to die,
And in our sad and troubled hearts,
We keep asking why,
The reason is hidden somewhere in
The pattern God has planned,
We must believe and trust in God and someday,
We will understand. We'll miss you now,
Our hearts are sore, as time goes by we'll miss you more,
Your loving smile's, your gentle face's.

To all those who have lost loved one's in one of America's Biggest Tragedy's my thought's and prayer's are with you all.

He Only Takes The Best

God saw they were their happiest and
someone would not let that be.
So He put his arms around them and whispered
"Come with Me".

With tear filled eyes we watched them,
suffer and fade away. Although we
loved them deeply, We could not
make them stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
