The Spirit Of America
Can NOT Be Killed

Sept 11, 2001

I have found this page to be the hardest page I ever had to create. I have put off making this page for a few days now because I have been so hurt by all of what's going around us. It's hard to find the right words. I usually created pages using inspirational poems and graphics. There isn't anything inspirational about what has happened. They say pictures speak louder then words. So along with the pictures I have added a few poems. I created two pages. Please be sure to take a look at the second page.

I would also like to take a few minutes of your time to tell you a little about what my friends and family are going through right now.

We live in New Jersey and my husband works at a hospital in Edison NJ. about 20 minutes outside of NYC. We know a few friends that have lost loved ones, both on the plane and in the World Trade Center. Our hearts go out to our friends and their families. There are no words to describe how each of us feels about what happened. Just please know that we are here for you and you are in our hearts.

I also want to send my condolences to the victims and to their families, to the families of those that lost their loved ones that were killed in the planes, in the World Trade Center and at the Pentagon. To the heroes that gave their lives to save so many, to the heroes that are still working hard to recover those that are still missing and that were killed. This was a horrific act towards us Americans. But we are strong people! I know we can get through this. We always do. I see Americans all around me pulling together. Every house and car has a flag to show how much they care and how strong we are as a nation. We will win this war! And together side by side. We will stand stronger then ever! We will stand proud! We will stand free! Because we are Americans! No one can ever take that away from us. They can never kill our spirit because we will stand together forever!

God Bless you all.
With All Our Love

World Trade Center

A normal day in NYC.

Seconds before the first plane hit.

Sleep now, our gentle warrior,
You have earned eternal rest.
Though your light shined much too briefly,
By your love we all were blest.

You brightened the lives of many
With your gentle, caring way~~
You touched the hearts of all the world,
And we mourn your loss today.

Our world will now be darker,
And our hearts are filled with pain,
But there's one more star in Heaven
To illumine God's domain.

So sleep, our gentle warrior,
Soothed by angel lullabies.
Your love will beat forever
Although death has closed your eyes.

The Pentagon

On Monday

On Monday there were people fighting against praying in schools
On Tuesday you would have been hard pressed to find a school where someone was not praying

On Monday there were people were trying to separate each other by race, sex, color and creed
On Tuesday they were all holding hands

On Monday we thought that we were secure
On Tuesday we learned better

On Monday we were talking about heroes as being athletes
On Tuesday we relearned what hero meant

On Monday people went to work at the world trade centers as usual
On Tuesday they died

On Monday people were fighting the 10 commandments on government property
On Tuesday the same people all said 'God help us all' while thinking 'Thou shall not kill'

On Monday people argued with their kids about picking up their room
On Tuesday the same people could not get home fast enough to hug their kids

On Monday people picked up McDonalds for dinner
On Tuesday they stayed home

On Monday people were upset that their dry cleaning was not ready on time
On Tuesday they were lining up to give blood for the dying

On Monday politicians argued about budget surpluses
On Tuesday grief stricken they sang 'God Bless America'

On Monday we worried about the traffic and getting to work late
On Tuesday we worried about a plane crashing into your house or place of business

On Monday we were irritated that our rebate checks had not arrived
On Tuesday we saw people celebrating people dying in the USA

On Monday some children had solid families
On Tuesday they were orphans

On Monday the president was going to Florida to read to children
On Tuesday he returned to Washington to protect our children

On Monday we emailed jokes
On Tuesday we did not

It is sadly ironic how it takes horrific events to place things into perspective, but it has.  The lessons learned this week, the things we have taken for granted, the things that have been forgotten or overlooked, hopefully will never be forgotten again.

When Tomorrow
Starts Without Me

When tomorrow starts without me,
and I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry,
the way you did today,
while thinking of the many things,
we didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name,
and took me by the hand,
and said my place was ready,
in heaven far above,
and that I'd have to leave behind,
all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
a tear fell from my eye,
for all life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
so much yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible,
that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
and all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,
just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
my heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
from His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity,
and all I've promised you".

Today for life on earth is past,
but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
but today will always last,
and since each day's the same day,
there's no longing for the past.

But you have been so faithful,
so trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,
you knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
and now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand
and share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
for every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.
